Taylor began to record ASMR on her cell phone and then uploading videos to YouTube. After achieving 50,000 subscribers approximately 1 1/2 months after posting her first video she appeared in a game video made produced by PewDiePie. Taylor had stopped creating videos for her Youtube Channel after two months, and was close to 100,000 Subscribers. The reason for this was mostly due to technical issues related to her new equipment, and her overwhelming popularity. After August 2022, and taking a break of a few months, Taylor began making videos such as the ASMR 10 sleep triggers (35 million views). ASMR Twenty Triggers to Sleep the video, which became extremely popular in July 2017 has been viewed by over 38 million users as of the 20th of August, 2012. When she reached 1 million YouTube subscribers, she was featured in the Shane Dawson interview in August 2017. Wired UK estimates that her YouTube advertising revenue was $1,000 per week during February of 2019.

Dennis Helfer along with Elaine Helfer are the parents of Helfer. Her parents are of German, English, Swedish and Norwegian heritage. She studied at William E. Hay Composite High School in Stettler, Alberta. Her sisters Tammy, Tara, and Trena were also employed by her on the family farm. Helfer was spotted at 17 by a scout from a modeling agency while standing in line at the movie theater.
