Rose defeated Esparza via a technical knockout within just under 3 minutes round One. Rose not only won the championship but was awarded Fighter Of The Night. Rose was also able to make MMA history with this match because she became the first woman to compete to win the title of champion within any major organization. Namajunas won a number of fights following her win that included beating Joanna Jedrzejczyk on two occasions. It brought Namajunas Performance Of The Night awards from UFC.
